Reaching a Milestone

I had a lot of fun getting a reluctant 9 year old riding for the first time. Hear what his parents had to say:

“Our son was a late learner and has a developmental coordination disorder, so it was a major challenge getting him to ride. But within two sessions Jenny had him feeling confident enough in his abilities to balance and glide, and by the third lesson riding unassisted including starting by himself, turns and brake stops. Jenny was so kind and understanding with him he naturally gained the confidence and skills in a short period of time. Most notable was her ability to flexibly maneuver between coaching and reassuring – being soothing and reassuring and others pushing him just enough to get him to the next level. We are so thankful for the gift of riding she gave him.”

Success in Needham!

“Jenny was amazing at teaching our son to ride a bike. Because of her patience and ability to relate to my son, he quickly built his confidence to start riding. I highly recommend Jenny to anyone struggling with a reluctant child”

Leaping in!

For the last few years, I have toyed with the idea of starting a side business teaching people of all ages how to ride a bike and basic biking skills. I love teaching and coaching others and think I am pretty good at it.  I haven’t acted on the idea because of all of the perceived barriers – I don’t have bikes, I don’t have a space, I’m just one person, what if it doesn’t work out?

Well, today, I am taking the leap, moving past the barriers, and launching the Get Biking website to offer lessons! Given that I am leaving my job at Boston Bikes to “take some time off”, now seems like a good time to try out offering lessons. I am so excited to get going and help get more people doing something I love!
